My-Affiliate Marketinginformation and affiliate programs for the affiliate marketer
By Dave D.
Advertising principle and practice have changed over the years. People used to buy a product from a vendor because they need it, but now it is a matter of how good is the sales letter to pull in that extra income. A compelling sales copy makes a difference in sales and often-powerful words such as “exceptional”, “astonishing” and many others are used in sales copy to convince the visitor to make a purchase.
There are some marketers out there that do not apply any advertising principle and practice into their marketing concept and strategies. They tend to hard sell their customers with overwhelming description that normally are misleading. They make many promises and claims but in actuality do not even exist.
Let me take this opportunity to share an experience of mine regarding advertising principle and practices. I have seen sales letter that lists down all your desires for a product or e-book, it describes all my wants and needs and I was really drawn to the sales copy. There were countless testimonials and the sales letter even misleads you into believing that the product owner or author owns a mansion and a fleet of cars just by using his product or methods. But how true are all this claims?
Not even a little bit or maybe just the part where he says he has countless testimonials, forgetting to mention that he actually bought them. How do I know this? Well, I kind of know this guy. He was actually only trying to make a quick buck and somehow he managed to pull it off. This is where I saw the vulnerability of people who are new to making purchases in the Internet.
Do not be fooled by a dramatic sales copy and if you are into marketing, please apply some advertising principle and practice in to your promotional marketing. Use your due diligence before parting with your money and do a little bit of research and digging before any commitment. Listed below here are advertising principle and practices that all marketers should consider applying to their marketing concepts and strategies.
- Do not SPAM and do not promote spam products of any sort.
- Do not mislead and be clear with your offers.
- Do not make false claims and hyped-up statements that you cannot substantiate.
- Practice honesty at all times.
- Respect other marketers and best of all enjoy what you are doing.
