My-Affiliate Marketinginformation and affiliate programs for the affiliate marketer
By Dave D.
Your goal is set on becoming a successful online businessman. You have prepared your ads for your affiliates to use, have already registered with Google for an Adsence account and your products are so hot and ready to roll but have you forgotten to do something? Something so simple yet overlooked, are your landing pages ready?
Yes, that's right landing pages. They are pages that visitors come to which are normally directed from ads or other sources. For affiliate marketing, the merchant would preferably always direct potential customers from affiliate websites to landing pages. These pages are not very much different from any other page in their website more so if it is online business website. Some webmasters even use a landing page as their homepage. Some say it is a mistake but it is not wrong either.
You can try to bring visitors to your homepage like what other businessmen are doing but to get the best out of your e-commerce business and earn more profits, you better build a unique landing page just for your website ads.
Here are two reasons why this method will be very beneficial, and creating a good landing page will be a lot better than a normal one for affiliate marketing.
No. 1: It's the best way to maximize conversions in any affiliate marketing program.
A merchant needs to have conversions in order to cover cost per click rate and make profits from an affiliate program. A conversion is when a visitor buys a product or service on your site. The more visitors the affiliate brings into your site, the more cost it will be for you and only through conversions one can recover sooner from these expenditure.
If an affiliate would have just posted your ad in his website not directing to your unique landing page then you are not goint to get any conversion. It will only be like advertising a service or product but without any follow up for sales. You can have a very strong and compelling advertisement to entice visitors to buy your product but at that point they may not have the resources or time to look thru your offer, and may just go away. Hence with a landing page to capture their details, so you can proceed to follow up on offers.
No. 2: Using other web pages may be too distracting.
One common mistake made by people is that they tend to make their homepage as an entry point for their ads and not using a landing page as a homepage. Some even use the product page or even info page, which is not very logical. Homepages are made for many users and they have many links to other web pages or web sites that are very distracting. To be successful in affiliate marketing, you need to target a specific crowd to your unique landing page.
When trying to choose a landing page your goal is to have the prospect directed to that particular page in mind. The contents and keywords have to match the ads that you are putting out so as to get targeted traffic. It is also recommended that the landing page can influence your visitor to take action such as providing a time sensitive offer.
Online businesses normally get into affiliate marketing to gain additional profit and to save on unnesessary advertising but if you don't have a good landing page you will only end up paying too much without getting satisfactory returns. If you still do not have a unique landing page for all your advertisement, you better start building one now, and at the same time while you are at it-make it a good one.
