My-Affiliate Marketinginformation and affiliate programs for the affiliate marketer
By Dave D.
I am a subscriber to at least twenty different e-mail mailing lists, and only a handful of them seem to be effective in holding my interest. Many businesses and webmasters use opt-in mailing to send their promotional material to increase sales and also to increase traffic. Updates, newsletters, catalogs or even price lists are among those promotional materials sent out to the mailing lists.
I started to analyze what would webmasters have to do to make their opt-in marketing techniques a success. I realized some use a very simple text layout, some uses HTML with all the bells and whistles and a small number uses a balance between the two. The effective ones I see come from those who are creative and dare to be different. They managed to get a hold of my interest and made me want more of it. This is how an effective opt-in mailing list should be-creative and different.
If you want the attention of your prospect in your mailing list then concentrate on providing unique articles and creative content. Looking at forums for successful webmasters, it seems that there are a few key elements to have an effective mailing list strategy.
Try keeping your promotional materials simple, original and creative. Many people are too busy and stressed out with daily duties and receiving a sales oriented e-mail does not bring any welcome. A light joke or a teaser is always preferred over a serious business proposal. You need to show your customers that you are able to have fun and it is not all about ‘all work and no play’.
Add a little bit of color and provide some photos in your e-mail to your mailing list subscribers. Use soft colors and simple photos if possible and try to keep your subscribers in a light mood with your promotional materials. Try to grab hold of your mailing list subscriber interest so that they keep on reading. Add content that interests them.
Invest in a good and experienced copywriter to chalk up a quality article even if you have to-as long as your budget permits. A professional copywriter will always build trust with their clients and they will be able to build-up your credibility thru their writing. It must be very informative without all the unnecessary description. Articles should be written as if they are ‘talking’ to the mailing list recipients.
Good e-mail marketing strategies are to chart out the product benefits and services, and why the recipient needs what you have to offer. Try not to be too persuasive and annoying. It should be entertaining as well as leading them to buy from you.
Don’t leave your mailing list subscriber guessing to what you have in your promotional material. It should be clear. Your goal should be to lead them and not to beat around the bush. Explain things clearly and try to foresee what your subscribers needs are. Do a little bit of research on the current trends and go with the flow.
